Honestly, not initially. My main interest at first was to do medicine and become a doctor. But I later found out about biochemical engineering through my mother who came across it by chance. Now I think its the best decision I’ve made.

Not at first. I set my sights very low at first to be in a trade; it was only when I realised just how capable I was that I pursued engineering.

No, I probably only realised when I was 15, but everyone’s different.

I knew from early on that I wanted to do something with science, but it wasn’t till I was about 15 that I decided I wanted to be an engineer. I really like using the things we know from science to be able to solve real world problems.

Looks like other people here are similar, but definitely not! I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life for a very long time – after college I went to become a lifeguard, and it took a couple of years after that for me to work out what I really wanted to do!
