• Question: Do you feel your career in engineering is repetitive at times, or are you given many different tasks, and are they enjoyable or sometimes boring at times? To be honest I feel you all are working in careers that seem highly interesting!

As far as jobs go, this has been my most fun. You get the occasional slow day but it’s not so mind numbing that you want to walk away. There is always plenty to be done and if you’re stuck and bored out of your mind; it probably means that you forgot to do something important!

Sometimes specific tasks can feel repetitive, like when you’re performing a test and you have to do it multiple times to make sure the answer is correct.

But as a career it is incredibly varied, generally speaking I do something different every day!

If there’s something you find interesting then you should pursue it, there’s nothing worse than a boring job!

Mine is definitely not repetitive! I think in engineering, technician jobs are ones that are more practical and need fewer academic qualifications, but might be more repetitive. Engineer jobs, on the other hand, tend to be more designing new things and making things better, so they’re a new thing every day!
